JEFFERSON CITY (May 17, 2011) – State Auditor Tom Schweich announced today the launch of the new state auditor's office website.
"Our new website will make audit information more accessible to Missourians, presenting information on government spending in a straightforward and convenient manner," Auditor Schweich said. "We are also excited to allow taxpayers to interact with our office through new social media platforms."
The new website design includes easy access to completed audit reports categorized by location, date and type for easier navigation. A new feature is the progress page which lists all audit projects the auditor's office is currently working on. The site also offers top news updates from the auditor's office which scroll prominently on the homepage. In addition, the site will feature a searchable index of audits which will be fully integrated in the coming weeks.
The state auditor's office has also unveiled Twitter and Facebook profiles to allow citizens to immediately interact with audit results and information. The state auditor is the first statewide official to fully incorporate these platforms into his official website.
The website will also feature videos of Auditor Schweich's speeches, audit announcements and informative presentations geared toward the public and auditees.
These new tools are a part of Auditor Schweich's ongoing mission to promote transparency and a free-flow of information to the media and the taxpayers of Missouri.
