Auditor Galloway releases monthly report on local government finances

State Auditor calls on delinquent governments to file missing reports

04/26/2017

Missouri State Auditor Nicole Galloway today issued the State Auditor's monthly report detailing local government compliance with financial reporting laws. Cities, towns and villages in Missouri are required to file annual financial reports with the State Auditor's Office within six months of the end of their fiscal year.

Of the 65 local governments that were required to submit financial reports to the State Auditor's Office in March, 41 submitted their financial reports on time and 24 did not, for a success rate of 63%.

Auditor Galloway has called on delinquent government bodies to file late or missing reports, and has directed her staff to follow up to compel compliance. This report also includes information on other local governments that submitted late financial reports or other related documents to the State Auditor's Office in March. Local governments are sorted by county in the report.

Reports received are searchable online. The complete report is available online here.
