Statement by Auditor Galloway on criminal charges filed against former Greenville City Clerk

Audit work revealed misappropriation of over $150,000

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo (July 19, 2018) Missouri State Auditor Nicole Galloway today released a statement on the felony charges filed against former Greenville City Clerk Pamela S. Birmingham. An ongoing audit of the City of Greenville, located in Wayne County, revealed evidence that led to the charges by the Attorney General.  

"I am dedicated to working with law enforcement to hold corrupt public officials accountable. I appreciate the attention to this issue in asking for my office's assistance and expertise in forensic auditing, which led to today's charges. We will continue to work with the Highway Patrol and Attorney General to ensure justice for taxpayers in Greenville."
